Studio Etiquette
ALL Students - if you come to the studio to work or take a class, you must follow studio guidelines.
We are constantly adjusting in any way we can and we are asking our students to be diligent and cooperative.
1. Mask Required. We are no longer mandated to have anyone wear a mask or provide proof of vaccination. However, as the cold, flu and Covid are still spreading we have decided that wearing a mask during classes and open studio is better for all, especially since we have individuals in our community who are vulnerable and some that are taking care of loved ones. If you are feeling sick please stay home. If you test positive please notify us so we can let anyone who might have been exposed know about it as soon as we can.
2. No shared tools: You will need your own tools. If you don’t have one, you can either purchase a kit from us or order what you desire, and you are now responsible for holding on to them on your shelf.
3. Aprons/Towels: Bring your own work shirt/apron, and a small towel that you are responsible for taking home and cleaning.
4. Feeling Sick: If you feel ill or think you have been exposed please refrain from coming to the studio.
5. Open studio Sign up. We have an online open studio sign-up to book times. Students must sign up for a spot so that we can manage the number of people in the rooms
6. Classes and Makeups: Every student must commit to working during their allotted class time only. We will try our best to accommodate missed classes but cannot guarantee that we will have space.
2022 Studio Updates
Dear Mugi Community,
We are among the thousands of small businesses trying our best to persevere through this very challenging time in order to be able to reopen the studio to our students and resume classes. Our primary intent is to ensure everyone's health and safety which has prompted us to do a fairly complicated renovation in the studio space. We are trusting that these steps will give our studio community the confidence to return and enjoy a relief from the stress we are all experiencing.
We take the safety of our community seriously and during the shutdown, we installed a new ventilation system, a second sink and reconfigured the layout of the studio to ensure safe distancing. We have also added tables for spacing out hand-building stations so everyone has enough space to do their work without a worry.
Each wheel has its own separated station and a facial mask is required while in the studio.
We no longer provide shared community tools, towels, or aprons like we did in the past. We will have tool kits for sale at the studio ($15) and we ask that you bring your own apron and towel to class and store those items on your designated shelf.
Cheers,
MUGI
Students please leave your station like this when you finish working.
At the end of every class or work time please fully clean your station (including floor) and leave it beautiful for the next artist.
Cleanup:
1. Area Clean Up: When you clean up your area you are responsible for wiping down your spot.
2. Floors: Students must mop/sweep the wheel stations after each use. Mops are located by the sink.
3. Glaze buckets and underglazes. You must wipe down the jar or bucket after use. You touch it you clean it!!! :)
